Take action

The most useful thing you can bring is your own family's story: your child's school and grade, what immersion has meant for them, and what a move or a change to the program would do. A few honest sentences in your own words say more than a copied message.

Go to a Round 2 session

These sessions cover which criteria MCPS will use and how it will apply them. Families can attend any session, whatever their region. In-person sessions run 6:30–8:30 pm.

Write to the Board of Education

Say who you are and which school you're connected to, what immersion has meant for your family, and what you want the Board to do. A few honest sentences are enough.

What makes a comment count

  • Start with what you're asking for, in one sentence.
  • Name your program and school, such as “French immersion at Sligo Creek ES.”
  • Tell one specific story about your child or your family.
  • Use your own words. Our six asks are a starting point, not a script.

Bring another family

Many immersion families haven't heard about the study yet. Send this site to your class list or another immersion school.
